Pedophile Meets Vigilantes Instead Of Teen Girl

Instead of the 14-year-old girl he’d been grooming online, a pedophile in England met a group of male vigilantes instead.

David Hanson, 45, fainted on camera after discovering the teenage girl he’d been speaking to was actually a group of pedophile hunters known as Dark Justice, the Daily Mail reports.

The group was founded in 2014 and wrote on their website that it is "a two-man operation based in Newcastle upon Tyne. We catch online predators who try to groom & meet up with children following sexual grooming."

“His eyes rolled back and he just went straight to the ground,” one of the members of Dark Justice revealed. “We confronted him in the same way we do all our cases, there's no aggression or anything. We just revealed who we were and he passed out. We prepare ourselves for all sorts of outcomes at these meetings but we certainly weren't expecting that.”

According to reports, Dark Justice created a fake online dating profile under the name “Amanda” and pretended to be an 18-year-old girl.

Yet when Hanson messaged her in July 2015,  “Amanda” said she lied about her age and was actually 14-years-old.

Their messages grew increasingly explicit, containing talk about touching and fondling. When they made plans to meet each other, Hanson said  she “would be happy by the end of the night.”

Although Hanson reportedly showed up to the meeting with a bag containing condoms and a toothbrush, he later denied he intended to sleep with the fictional teenage girl, however.

"The defendant said: 'I wasn't going to have sex with her,'" Prosecutor Anne Richardson said. "He said he felt sick and looked as if he was going to faint. He asked to join Dark Justice as he agreed with what they were doing. He repeatedly said he was sorry, he had been stupid."

Yet court officials are skeptical.

“It seems you have lived a lonely, isolated existence since that time. You have lost everything including your job and your home. It's clear you are ashamed,” Judge Paul Sloan  said, before sentencing the man to a three-year community order and giving him a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.
