A nine-year-old girl in southwestern Mexico was able to escape an alleged rapist by grabbing a stone and smacking him in the head with it.
The accused attacker, Amilcar Espinoza Lopez, 18, reportedly told the girl he worked for her father when he came to her home. He then told the girl she was to take him to her father’s shop.
Once they were away from the home, Lopez allegedly grabbed the girl around the neck and forced her into an abandoned building where he tried to rape her, reports Mirror.
The girl grabbed a nearby stone and hit Lopez over the head with it. She then ran to her father’s store, still holding the stone in her hand.
"My little girl burst in sobbing and hysterical. I tried to calm her down and asked her what had happened,” the father said. “When she told me I was sickened. I know this boy and he is a loner and a freak. It took all my will-power to not go and find him and beat him to death. I immediately called the police though."
Poice found Lopez injured in the building where he tried to rape the girl.
"At first he denied it and said he was in the derelict house looking for scrap to sell when he fell over and banged his head,” a police spokesman said. “But a comparison of the blood DNA on the stone the girl had and his showed an exact match."
