Shocking video (below) has been leaked of a Russian mother kicking her 6-year-old son and then tossing him into the street after seeing her bank account balance when visiting an ATM.
When 35-year-old Zhanna Voytishek saw that her child welfare benefits had not been deposited, she decided to take out her financial woes on her son by beating him.
She shoves the boy by his head, causing him to fall to the floor of the convenience store in Labytnangi, in the northern Urals.
Then the mother kicks the boy when he’s down -- in the stomach -- as the child tries to shield himself.
When a bystander tries to stop the attack, Voytishek drags her son out of the store.
The mother then grips the boy’s neck and waist, lifting him above her head and throws him like a rag doll into the snowy street.
At the end of the clip, the mother leaves her young boy squirming in pain on the icy sidewalk before she walks away, leaving him there.
The disturbing video was filmed in November 2015 but was posted in late January to social media.
Russian authorities are now investigating.
According to Daily Mail, the woman’s anger was due to the late deposit of a $25 child welfare payment into her bank account.
The mother reportedly has a psychological illness, according to Daily Mail. She is currently undergoing a medical examination.
Pavel Astakhov, a spokesman for Russia's children's services agency, said the boy will not be taken into the care of social services, despite the beating.
“The boy is from a complete family. He has a father with whom we have no complaints, so he hasn't been taken from the family,” he said.
