Mother Becomes Widow After Giving Birth To Eighth Child

Cloe Green is a 27-year-old widowed mother of eight from North Wales.

Her husband, James, died at age 31, shortly after she gave birth to the couple's eighth child, reports the Daily Mail.

She performed CPR on James while waiting for paramedics to arrive, but her husband could not be saved. The cause of death was reported as hypertensive heart disease.

Cloe said he will be missed very much.

It was so sudden and so shocking. To think James won't be here to see the large family he wanted so much grow up breaks my heart. Nobody can replace James. He loved being a dad so much. I am devastated he was taken from us but pleased he got his wish of us having our eighth baby.

The couple met when they were both teenagers, and they had their first baby when Cloe was just 17. “It was a shock because we were so young, but James took it in his stride. He just smiled and said he always wanted to be a dad," she recalled.

Six weeks after their third child was born, she was pregnant again, with their first daughter. Then they got married.

“While I was a full-time mum, James worked his socks off in a cafe, slogging every hour possible to provide for us,” explained Cloe. “He would wink at me and smile and say, ‘Just one more, Clo.’”

After one of their children was born with cerebral palsy, they decided to stop having babies. So Cloe got a contraceptive implant, but it didn’t work and she got pregnant again with another baby who also had cerebral palsy. Another followed, for a total of three palsy children.

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, cerebral palsy “refers to a group of neurological disorders that appear in infancy or early childhood and permanently affect body movement, muscle coordination, and balance. CP affects the part of the brain that controls muscle movements.  The majority of children with cerebral palsy are born with it, although it may not be detected until months or years later.”

In 2015, Cloe became pregnant with baby number eight, a boy who was born in September of that year. The night before the new baby came home from the hospital, James died.

The widow is now crowdfunding via GoFundMe to raise money to help make ends meet.
