New photos surfacing on the internet show a man being thrown off the roof of a building in Tel Abiad, in the Islamic State capital of Raqqa, in Syria.

One photo shows a large crowd gathered below to watch the horrific execution. An onlooker appears to be recording the execution on his cell phone. Once the man hits the ground, spectators hurl rocks at his beaten body.

Among those in the crowd are women and children. The women are seen watching the punishment away from the crowd of men. Women are rarely seen watching public executions in Islamic State territory, according to the Daily Mail.

The man, whose name has not been released, was reportedly tried and then sentenced to death by an Islamic State court. He was found guilty of engaging in homosexual activities, including sodomy.

An Islamic fighter holding a megaphone announces to the crowd of onlookers that the court has sentenced ‘the child of Lot’ to death. The Daily Mail reports that, according to the Quran, Lot's people of Sodom and Gomorrah carried out sinful acts and were severely punished by God.

Once the man hits the ground, another photo shows him lying on top of a pile of rocks with his hands and legs bound, and his eyes covered with a black blindfold.

Just last month, another man also accused of engaging in homosexual activities was reportedly thrown from the same building. A photo shows this particular man, who was tied to a white plastic chair, being pushed off the building by three masked fighters.

Another photo shows the man flying headfirst toward the ground. He happened to survive the fall but was then stoned to death by spectators once he hit the ground.
