A disturbing photo released by terror group ISIS shows a tiny baby lying on his back with a large green grenade placed on his chest. The infant is dressed in an ammunition vest with a skull cap covering his head. The photo seems to have appeared online in response to a handbook released by ISIS called “Sister’s Role in Jihad.” The book suggests ways for mothers to raise children to become extremist fighters.
The book instructs women to begin training children “while they are babies,” as waiting until they are toddlers “may be too late,” reports the Inquisitr. Some suggestions include reading tales of jihad at bedtime, teaching children to play darts in order to perfect their aim, and introducing them to jihadi websites.
Steven Stalinsky, executive director of The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), which reviewed the book, said: “As we move into 2015, Al-Qaeda and its affiliates, ISIS, and other jihadi groups worldwide continue to invest a lot of effort in indoctrination of the next generation of fighters. It is important for the West to understand that all these groups want the world to know that this indoctrination is taking place. No matter what happens in Iraq and Syria in the near future, the next generation — the children of Baghdadi and grandchildren of bin Laden — have already been brainwashed to hate the West and to strive for jihad and martyrdom,” according to the Inquisitr.
Late last year, ISIS released a similar photo of a tiny baby lying on an Islamic State flag surrounded by a rifle, hand gun and multiple grenades. A few weeks before that, terrorist Khaled Sharrouf posted a photo to Twitter of his 7-year-old son holding the severed head of a Syrian soldier, with the caption "That's my boy," the Daily Mail reports.
