A Russian man was released on bail after he allegedly bit off parts of a woman's nose, ears and fingertips during a dinner date.

Anatoliy Ezhkov, 45, reportedly invited 41-year-old nurse Irina Gonchar to his hostel apartment in Kurgan, Russia, before the attack, according to Daily Mail.

Ezhkov, who is thought to be a drug user, allegedly plied Gonchar with alcohol before beating her, tying her up with a cord and trying to strangle her, before biting off parts of her flesh.

Ezhkov allegedly ripped off chunks of Gonchar's nose, ears, fingertips and pieces of her spine with his teeth during the attack, which lasted four hours.

Neighbors came to Gonchar's rescue after hearing her screaming and called the police. Gonchar was hospitalized with severe wounds, a concussion and fractured rib.

"This torture lasted four hours, this man tore at her body with his teeth, she is positive he tried to kill her," said one of Gonchar's relatives. "He tried to smother her, but her neck was covered by blood and his hands got slippery."

"Neighbors heard screams but they are used to these things as there are lots of alcoholics living at the hostel," the relative added.

Ezhkov was questioned by police before being released on bail.

"How could the cops let him go?" asked another relative. "What if he breaks into her apartment after she is sent home and tries to kill her?"

"I am shocked with this story and even more shocked he was released," said Ludmila Zalomskaya, a Kurgan local. "The family urgently needs to contact the prosecutor's office in Moscow, if local lawmakers are not qualified enough."

In 2014, a British man allegedly lured a 22-year-old woman to his hotel room after meeting her in a bar before murdering her and eating her face and one of her eyes, according to The Telegraph.

Matthew Williams, 34, reportedly cannibalized the body of Cerys Yemm at the Sirhowy Arms Hotel in South Wales. The hotel's owner, Mandy Miles, told emergency responders, "He's eating her," in an emergency call.

"There's a lad in the room," Miles said in the call. "He's actually eating her. It's awful. His name is Matthew Williams and he's in room 7. There's blood everywhere and it looks like a horror film. He was using the screwdriver and stabbing."

Yemm was pronounced dead after the attack. Williams died in early the next morning after police had used a stun gun on him.
