Creepy Photo Of Japanese Scenery Stirs Ghost Debate On Reddit

An ominous photo of a little girl posing in Japan appears to show the boots of a samurai soldier in the background. However, no man is present and a different photo does not show the boots in the background.

The photo was taken last year in Kanagawa prefecture, which happens to be in close proximity to soldier tombs. This has caused some to claim that the figure in the background is the ghost of a samurai soldier

The photo was found on Reddit, where the poster claimed that it was not photoshopped. The poster wrote, “I'm not saying it's anything - just that it looks an awful lot like disembodied boots and legs…”

The poster continued to say that they look like samurai boots. “I know there are several very old samurai tombs nearby,” the poster continued. “Again, not saying that this is what is there, just that, based on preliminary research, this is my best guess...”

A different user added that they may be combat boots from World War II. “My grandfather was in the pacific theater (Okinawa Japan) in WWII and I recognize what the man in the background is wearing. It’s a US Navy Uniform from WWII.”

However, there were plenty of users that were not convinced by the ghost stories. There are dark rocks in the background that could easily form an optical illusion.

According to a 2013 poll by Huffington Post, 45 percent of Americans believe in ghosts or that the spirits of dead people can come back at certain times.
