When England-based couple Leah Rogers and Ryan Flanaghan bought a Beanie Baby for $14.95 at a car boot sale, they had no idea what they’d stumbled upon. It turned out that the purple doll is extremely rare and worth $93,406.

The couple, from Cornwall, England, spotted the toy at the sale and bought it right away. Flanaghan, a former Beanie Baby collector, later realized that the purple toy was a commemorative, limited-edition Princess Diana model released after her death in 1997. Only 100 of them were made, and written inside the bear’s tag was a poem about the late princess.

“Like an angel she came from heaven above; she shared her compassion, her pain, her love; she only stayed with us long enough to teach the world to share, to give, to reach,” the poem read.

Flanaghan later discovered that it is a first edition, which means its value could be worth thousands. After some research, he realized that another first-edition bear was selling on eBay for $93,406.

The shocked couple quickly listed the bear online for a starting bid of $37,362. They said they plan to use the money made from the sale to put a deposit on a house.

“We couldn't believe it,” 20-year-old Rogers said.“We picked it up for £10 [$14.95] and it could be worth tens of thousands. It's so hard for young people to get on the property ladder so we think this could really be a blessing."
