Hacker group Anonymous released a new video on May 6, warning viewers World War 3 is on the verge of breaking out (video below).
In the ominous video, while the group says recent political developments "doesn't mean outright war yet," it notes this is just "for the moment."
The group says tensions on the Korean Peninsula will trigger off the global catastrophe, stating "all the signs of a looming war on the Korean peninsula are surfacing."
"Watching as each country moves strategic pieces into place, but unlike past world wars, although there will be ground troops, the battle is likely to be fierce, brutal and quick," says a hacker.
The group says that with three superpowers involved, other countries will have no choice but to take sides, expanding the conflict globally.
Anonymous points to certain key developments in the region that indicate trouble is brewing.
Both China and Japan have issued warnings to their citizens.
"The pragmatic Chinese, it seems, are starting to lose their patience [with the U.S. and North Korea]," the group says.
China told Chinese citizens in North Korea to leave, while Japan alerted those living near military bases they'd only have 10 minutes to leave if North Korea were to attack.
Meanwhile, the U.S. recently successfully tested a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of traveling 8,000 miles to North Korea from California.
Anonymous says a U.S. plea to China to pressure North Korea into stopping its nuclear program may have fallen on deaf ears.
"Although China doesn't want radioactive fallout and refugees on its borders, do they really want their neighbor giving up nukes when it keeps the U.S. in check?" the group asks.
The group claims the U.S. is already preparing for the war in Australia and through its relationship with Philippines' President Rodrigo Duterte.
Anonymous says the U.S. may have preemptively placed 1,250 troops in Australia, a "strategic location in the Indian Ocean," under the guise of "rotational deployment."
"When President [Donald] Trump starts reaching out to those like President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines to assure they are on the same page, one must start to wonder," Anonymous says in the video.
While many are alarmed by the video, some are taking it with a grain of salt.
"World War 3 has been looming since the beginning of the Cold War, I don't recall a prolonged period in my (short 40-year) lifetime where the prospect of humanity getting exploded to oblivion wasn't around," wrote one person on Daily Mail's Facebook page.
"They've predicted everything wrong thus far, or take credit for a hack that they had no involvement in," added another.
