A man who allegedly attempted to rape an 8-year-old girl in the Santa Brigida neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, was stripped naked and paraded through the streets before being arrested (video below).
The footage, which was uploaded to social media, has blurred out the man’s face and genitals. The mob insulted the man as he was walked through the streets, his hands bound with rope. "Next time we will kill you,” one man said, according to the Daily Mirror. Another woman yelled that he was a “degenerate” and asked the arresting police woman to “tie him to the back of the car.”
Little is known about the video and whether or not the allegations are true, but the caption on the original footage read: "The neighbors of the community have done justice when we apprehended a criminal who was about to rape a little girl of just 8 years, and we handed him over to police who we hope will get justice for the innocent girl.”
The public shaming of alleged rapists happens around the world. In February, 53-year-old Lloyd Baker, who was out on bail for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Rhode Island, was confronted by Jay Messier in public. Baker was soliciting donations from passersby in West Warwick and Messier filmed his encounter with him, Raw Story reported.
Messier confirmed Baker’s identity and told him, “There’s a lot of people here that probably don’t know you’re out on bail for that. You think your parole officer would be okay with you being out here like this?”
Messier then yelled: “This guy right here is accused of raping a girl. Yeah, that’s right. Go find another f- - - - - - - corner not in West Warwick.”
Baker relented and left the area. The video was later posted to Facebook.
