A video (below) has surfaced that purportedly shows a police officer in West Deptford, New Jersey, striking a young man on July 18.
Police were reportedly answering a call about noise at a residence when 18-year-old Chris Cuneo was leaving a party. Two cops, identified by CopBlock as Officers Creedon and Svenson, wanted to question him.
Cuneo told The Free Thought Project:
"It was a party. Everybody started leaving the party and my friend Sebastian told me to stay behind and talk to the police with him. I said, 'No problem, buddy.'
"When I open the door, the police walked in they noticed all the open containers and started asking us for ID and our names. I said since we’re not being detained, I don’t have to answer any questions. He said, 'You do have to give him your name. Give him your name right now.' I said, 'Why?' He said because it’s an obstruction of the investigation."
Witnesses claim that when Cuneo began to walk away, he was grabbed and held by one cop, while a second cop hit him in the face three times, knocking him unconscious.
Cuneo reportedly woke up in a trauma center and had to be stitched up in his face and mouth. Cuneo posted pictures of his injuries and the video on his Facebook page on July 18.
Cuneo was charged with hindering, resisting arrest, and obstruction. The West Deptford Police Department is investigating the incident.
