A police officer was caught on video cursing at animal rights protesters and speculating how he would assault them outside the Miami Seaquarium in Florida on May 24.
The protesters (video below) held signs protesting the confinement of a killer whale, which was captured 44 years ago and reportedly kept in the smallest tank for a killer whale in North America, noted The Free Thought Project.
One of the protesters allegedly told a motorist, who made an obscene gesture, to "turn around, idiot."
In response, the cop, identified in reports as Officer Gary Cade, stated: "Listen, I’m gonna be honest with you. If I’m driving with my family, coming in here, and you call me an idiot, I will stop the car and beat your f****** a**."
The animal protesters told Cade several times the motorist in question made an obscene gesture, but that inflamed Cade against the protesters even more.
The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit against the Miami-Dade Police Department over their “red zone” policy, which the ACLU claims violates the protesters' First Amendment rights.
A "red zone" policy was created by Miami police in 2014 and does not allow protesters to stand on a public sidewalk near an entrance or exit to the Miami Seaquarium, according to ACLU.
Instead, the protesters must reportedly stand in a “green zone,” where they don't have access to cars entering and leaving.
