Baristas Arrested After Stripping for Money While Working

Those looking for a cup of coffee at a Grab-N-Go stand in Washington state might have been in for a little extra surprise, as three women were arrested for stripping at the establishments.

After authorities received numerous complaints about the women working at the stand showing extra skin and stripping down to their skivvies, they launched a two-month investigation and found that the women were, indeed, stripping for money instead of serving coffee.

It occurred at two different Grab-N-Go coffee stands located in Everett, a city 30 miles from Seattle.

“Citizens complained that these locations served more than just coffee. Indeed, our investigation uncovered exhibition and exposure, which is outside the confines of the law. During the investigation, video surveillance showed that at times coffee or drinks were not served, but shows were paid for and given,” Police Lieutenant James Duffy said.

“These stands are on a major road. They are in parking lots of businesses. Not like they are fully hidden from sight,” police spokesman Aaron Snell said.

He said he did not know how customers found out the women would strip for money.

“Word gets out,” he said.

Though the women were arrested, police are still investigating the situation and deciding if the owners of the stands had any hand in the incidents.

This isn’t the first time the stand was under investigation.

In 2009, the coffee stand chain was under investigation after people reported women were posing for pictures with customers while they were undressing.

Police went undercover and gave the baristas money for pictures. The women dressed down to their thongs or bikini bottoms and took photos with them.

This investigation led to five women being arrested for prostitution. One woman had the charges dropped immediately, the other four agreed to a deal to have theirs dropped if they stayed out of trouble for two years.

The women arrested on Wednesday do not seem to be the same women arrested in 2009.
