If the first ever World Series of Fighting (WSOF) show is considered a success, Ray Sefo already has 2013 shaped out in his mind. With the news that the show is close to selling out their 7,000 tickets, Sefo thinks the company is in a good position to move forward.
Sefo looks to start holding championship fights on about the third or fourth show so the company and see the roster and who falls into what ranking.
WSOF 1 airs November 3 on NBC Sports Network from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Only the first show is to air on the TV network. The preliminary card will be streamed live on Sherdog.com.
At the conclusion of the first show, Sefo and the NBC Sports Network will discuss whether either side wants to continue working together or if they should go their separate paths. Sefo hopes for the second show to take place in January. He also plans to host eight to 12 fights in 2013.
When Sefo was asked where he sees WSOF compared to other MMA companies, he felt satisfied where they are currently at, but said the plan is to always get better.
"We are really happy where we are today," said Sefo. "We're not in competition with anybody. We're in competition with ourselves. Obviously, our goal is to try and be to the best we can be. So for us, we're very happy and very blessed with where we are."
