Many criticize the sometimes reckless play of Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick. He likes to break off runs out of the pocket and he admits he doesn’t know how to slide. This leaves many fearful that he’s going to get hurt.
Well, he got beat up pretty good in Atlanta Sunday night, but it wasn’t because he was being reckless. He got ripped apart in the pocket, was splitting blood everywhere and ended up with a mild concussion. He didn’t return to the game.
On Monday, Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder said that Vick was “just a little bit off”in his concussion tests, which is a good sign. He also said not to rush to judgement as far as his availability for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. There is a chance he could play.
We’ll see. One would have to think that Mike Kafka would get the nod Sunday after his fine performance on Sunday night in the loss to the Falcons.
