Will Dez Bryant Start for the Dallas Cowboys?

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant, the Cowboys first selection in the 2010 NFL Draft, could possibly be a starting WR in his first season with in the NFL.

Bryant is already seeing reps with the first team offense in three receiver sets featuring Miles Austin and Roy Williams as the other two receivers.

“It’s crazy — just a lot of weapons at one time on the field,” Bryant said. “It’s going to be hard to stop. … It’s exciting to be able to be out there with those guys. I felt like coach put me out there for a reason. They’re trying to get me to learn everything as soon as possible. I’m doing a good job and it’s just great.”

Hall Of Fame QB Roger Staubach seems to think the Cowboys have the weapons to do well this season. He told reporters, “This is a really, really good football team and they have the capability. There are probably five or six teams in the NFL that can win it all. This is one of them. They can do it. … They’ve got a heckuva quarterback in Tony Romo. This talent that they have, including Felix Jones out of the backfield and Martellus Bennett, he’s looking good out there. They’ve got some really good receivers. They’ve got some people to throw the ball to. With Dez [Bryant]. Felix Jones, [Jason] Witten and [Roy] Williams and you’ve got Miles [Austin], I think I could still be playing.”

My Take: As I have said before, the Cowboys have the weapons to go all the way this year. They have also had the weapons to go all the way in previous seasons, but failed to do so. It’s not all about who you have on the field, it’s about how they play together. If the Cowboys can come together and get past any differences they have, they could be playing for the Super Bowl this season, instead of just watching it being played in their stadium.
