Why isn't Mike Goldberg Working UFC 155?
Jon Anik will replace Mike Goldberg for Saturday's UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II card. Goldberg, the usual play-by-play announcer, is taking time off.
MMAjunkie.com confirmed the change with UFC officials on Friday. Anik typically handles FX and Fuel TV cards with Kenny Florian.
Anik joined the UFC team after hosting MMA Live on ESPN previously. He also hosts Ultimate Insider, which airs on Fuel TV.
Initially, it had been reported that Goldberg was sick, but UFC president Dana White said he is uncertain when he will return to his broadcast duties.
"He's taking time off and is not working this weekend," White said. "I don't know when he will be back."
Back in 2005, Goldberg was offered a contract with the pro wrestling company, WWE. He turned down the offer and resigned with the UFC.
