Vinny Magalhaes Offers His UFC 153 Predictions
Vinny Magalhaes returned to the UFC with a submission victory over Igor Pokrajac last month. Now, Magalhaes is ready to try his hand at another task.
Magalhaes has made three predictions for this Saturday's UFC 153: Silva vs. Bonnar card. All three picks involve light heavyweight fights and were made on the Brazilians Twitter account Wednesday.
VINNY MAGALHAES' UFC 153 PREDICTIONS:
Phil Davis (9-1-0-1nc) vs Wagner Prado (8-0-0-1NC)
Davis should have the edge on experience and definitely on wrestling.
Even though Prado hasn't KO'd anybody that people have heard of, he still does have some clear KO wins on his record, so I'd give the Striking advantage to Prado based on that.
Interesting fact about their records is that only 2 of Prado's opponents don't have a losing record, while Davis has beaten: Brian Stann (Decision), Alexander Gustafsson (Sub), Tim Boestch (Sub), and Lil Nog (Decision).
My prediction: Davis by UD
GloverTeixeira (18-2) vs Fabio Maldonado (18-5)
Maldonado probably has some the best body shots in the sport, he will always be a dangerous opponent to anyone while fighting on his feet, but I think Glover is just on another level when it comes to have a more well rounded game. Glover does have the KO power, has excellent takedowns, and he's a World Class grappler (one of the best at it, if you ask me.), I will not call the upset on this one.
My prediction: Glover Teixeira by Submission
Anderson Silva (32-4) vs Stephan Bonnar (15-7)
I won't waste time on this one. For obvious reasons, I'm going to with the UFC Middle Weight Champion (Please, don't mistake him with the People's Champion Chael P. @Sonnench).
My prediction: Silva by KO.
