Tuesday night was a largely positive one for the Los Angeles Kings. The team earned its first Stanley Cup Finals berth since 1993 and, in doing so, officially cemented itself as the must-watch show in Tinseltown for the foreseeable future. Plus, the squad now has the benefit of resting up and watching the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils knock the stuffing out of one another before eventually having to meet one of those teams in the championship round.
Unfortunately, there was one minor bump in the road. Just before Dustin Penner scored the goal that propelled his Kings into the Finals, Dustin Brown went ahead and delivered this monster hit on Michal Rozsival:
Heading into Wednesday morning, everyone wanted to know if there would be any punishment handed from the league office for that move. For now, the answer appears to be no. According to USA Today, there is no hearing scheduled for the Kings’ captain.
What do you think: given the precedent set thus far, was it a suspension-worthy hit?
