The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Portland Trail Blazers 93-75 on Wednesday night. Los Angeles’ second preseason game, much like its first, was only available to Time Warner Cable subscribers. What does that mean? Well, it means that if you are one of the many, many people in America who doesn’t have Time Warner, you didn’t see this one either.
Fear not, there wasn’t a whole to see. Kobe Bryant sat out with a minor shoulder injury. (Remember that cool dunk he did the day before? This why he shouldn’t have done it.) Dwight Howard was out, too.
The biggest takeaways from this game are as follows:
1.) Steve Nash, at 38 years old, is still balling. (13 points)
2.) Metta World Peace is in really good shape. (12 points)
3.) Antawn Jamison is going to be very hit or miss this year. (4 points on 2-of-7 shooting)
4.) Robert Sacre will make the final roster. (8 points, 3 rebounds)
5.) The bench concerns we hoped were a thing of the past after this summer may still be a problem this year.
With all that in mind, here are the highlights:
