Video: Lakers’ Metta World Peace Explains Why He Won’t Speak to Thunder’s James Harden

Metta World Peace has been very quiet over the last few weeks. Eerily quiet, in fact. Ever since he delivered the People’s Elbow to James Harden’s head during a largely meaningless Los Angeles Lakers versus OKC Thunder showdown (and got suspended for it), Peace has seemed content staying out of the limelight and waiting for his punishment to run its course.

Unfortunately, that silence left folks with a lot of unanswered questions. Did he ever apologize to Harden for his actions? Has he had any contact with Harden since? Why was he so unapologetic when the incident initially took place?

Well, during a recent interview with Conan O’Brien, Peace answered all those questions and more. Check it out:

Does Peace’s justification for not speaking to Harden fly? Probably not. What does reaching out through third parties even entail?

In the end, though, the Lakers’ enigmatic forward mishandling a situation which originated from him needlessly elbowing a guy in the dome probably isn’t the most surprising news you’ll hear about today.
