The last of the formalities was worked out on Friday, when Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez weighed in at 141 and 142 pounds, respectively. Both men came in short of the welterweight-title catch-weight ceiling of 143 pounds.
Many were surprised to see what pristine physical shape Marquez ended up being in, with the 38-year-old proudly boasting huge biceps and a well-defined six pack in front of a roaring crowd.
That’s not to say Pacquiao didn’t look fit and ready to go, though. As the Filipino champion stepped off the scales he was met with a chorus of cheers from a crowd that was clearly rooting for him – loudly chanting Pacquiao’s name and continuing to proclaim undying love for the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Pacquiao and Marquez will meet for the third time on Saturday, November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
