J.R. Smith lifted the New York Knicks to a 99-97 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night with two clutch baskets.
The first one came with 10.6 seconds remaining, and it knotted the game up at 97. The second came right at the buzzer and propelled New York a two-point win just one day after their disappointing Christmas Day loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
"It was premeditated," Smith said of his final basket after the game (via USA Today).
"I was walking around the court going, 'You are going to make it, you are going to make it.' I was trying to get my form ready before I even thought about taking it. I was trying to go through my mechanics in my head, get my shoulders square to the basket and just let it fly."
