Video: Huge Light Falls on South Dakota Wrestler Michael McComish

You know how in movies sometimes there is that totally unrealistic sequence where the bad guy gets killed because some massive object falls on him? Well, when it happens in movies it leaves viewers with feelings of horror and amusement. Horror, obviously, because someone died; amusement because it’s a pretty far out there, kind of unrealistic way to go.

As it turns out, having a massive object fall on you isn’t that unrealistic. Plus, it actually isn’t all that funny when it happens in real life.

During a wrestling match between Madison and Chamberlain last Friday, senior Michael McComish officially became this week’s luckiest human being on the planet when he survived a massive light falling on his back and somehow walked away relatively unscathed.

Check it out (via Bob's Blitz):

Amazingly enough, this was the only lingering trauma the youngster was left with:

Just letting everyone know I'm fine! Stitches in my head. Gash on forehead and back of me head and little cuts from the glass nothin serious

A lot of people will chalk up McComish walking away from this incident in good spirits and solid health to him being lucky. Me? I give credit where it’s due. Obviously Manti Te’o’s girlfriend threw her body on top of him and saved the kid.

Good for her. What a hero.
