Round 1: Shilling goes for a takedown early and switches to a double against the cage but Holloway looks like he wants none of it. The two continue back on the feet. Holloway now initiating the exchanges before "Thrilling" goes for a surprising kneebar but Holloway gets out. Holloway now picking him apart and mixing up his strikes nicely. His opponent looking a little weathered with a minute left. Holloway now feeling more comfortable, throwing knees and elbows as the round comes to a close.

Fightline scores the round 10-9 for Holloway

Round 2: Schilling tries for another leg but is struggling again. Good attempt, but Holloway looks very balanced in the single leg and remains on the feet. Continuing to throw nice combinations and hurts Schilling with a shot behind the ear, flooring his opponent. Now working knees to a wounded Schilling, backing him up against the cage. Nice series of body shots here which have made the difference in the fight. Schilling now just covering up and eating shots. The takedowns look more and more desperate from Pat. Holloway proving his dynamic striking here and Schilling looks less mobile, showing little movement as the second round comes to a close.

Round 3: Apparently Schilling's right shoulder is injured heading into the round. Holloway continuing to work the punches and follows with a kick to the body. Schilling looks gassed and Holloway seems content picking him apart methodically. Schilling looks for a spinning back fist which is blocked. Not sure if he has the energy to take this one back. Big shot from Holloway that floors his opponent. A composed Holloway lets him stand to the feet. Holloway goes for a spinning back kick off the cage, showing off his athleticism here. Round ends and Holloway has definitely sealed the deal.

Max Holloway defeated Pat Schilling via unanimous decision (30-27).

Holloway rebounds after his loss to Dustin Poirier as he appears to be a force in the UFC. At twenty years old, he shows serious upside in the featherweight division.
