The Ultimate Fighter: Live Ratings Rise a Bit More
Episode nine of The Ultimate Fighter: Live fared only slightly better in the ratings than the reality show's previous installment, which set a new series low.
MMAJunkie reports that the episode drew 954,000 viewers, which is a slight improvement from episode eight's audience of 927,000.
This, the fifteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, was the first to air on a network other than SpikeTV, where the show resided for fourteen seasons past and pulled in consistently solid viewership. As part of the UFC's landmark deal with FOX, they retooled their flagship reality show to be edited and aired weekly along with a live fight. Despite the new format, this season has pulled in the lowest ratings in the show's history.
The Ultimate Fighter: Live is being coached by UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and his chief rival Urijah Faber. Putting another damper on the show was today's announcement that Cruz had injured his ACL and would no longer be able to fight Faber upon the show's conclusion, as planned.
Episode nine of The Ultimate Fighter: Live featured the final first round bout of the tournament, which saw Team Faber's Andy Ogle submit Team Cruz's Mike Rio. For a full recap of the episode, click here.
