UFC on FX 5 Round-by-Round Review: John Dodson vs. Jussier Formiga
Round 1: Dodson comes out with that lightning fast footwork as the two work to find their distance. Not too much action on the feet so far as neither able to land any significant strikes. Formiga goes in for a double leg but Dodson quickly jumps back to avoid the takedown. Dodson catches a leg kick but fails to follow up as boos start to sound from the Minnesota crowd.
Fightline scores the round 10-10
Round 2: Both fighters showing a ton of speed but neither able to connect as they are able to easily circle away from any attacks. Halfway through the round and still nothing doing. Dodson looks a lot stiffer than usual. Dodson now connects with a left hook that downs Formiga. Not able to land much ground and pound, respecting Formiga on the mat but still a big shot there. Dodson blasts him with another left coming off a nice body head combination. A few hammerfists to a turtled Formiga ends this one.
John Dodson def. Jussier Formiga via TKO (punches) at 4:35 in the second round.
