UFC on FUEL TV 2 Round-by-Round Review: Reza Madadi vs. Yoislandy Izquierdo

Hometown hero Madadi soaks in the crowd's enthusiastic welcome, milking his entrance.

Round 1: Izquierdo with a quick body kick and an easy defense of the takedown. Izquierdo with some nice striking on display, but it isn't long before Madadi forces the takedown. Madadi in side control. Madadi running circles around Izquierdo on the mat right now, transitioning well and looking to set up a choke.

Izquierdo hangs tough and springs out of the hold firing, stinging Madadi and causing him to backpedal. Izquierdo pursuant, but Madadi regains his composure and forces the clinch. Madadi briefly drags Izquierdo down, but he pops right to his feet. Madadi working for a high crotch as the ref prematurely separates them. Not big fans of grappling in Sweden? Izquierdo putting his strikes together well, using his range deftly. Izquierdo with a damaging flurry as the round closes, but he over-commits and gives up the takedown. Izquierdo still active with strikes from his back.

FightLine scores the round 10-9 for Izquierdo

Round 2: Izquierdo with an ever-changing striking assault that's keeping Madadi stifled. Again, he gets overzealous though and allows Madadi to change levels and hit the takedown. Madadi in side control. Izquierdo reverses, but Madadi rolls with it and slaps on a high-elbow guillotine, finishing the hold in mount.

There seems to be a confrontation between the two fighters as the results are announced.
