The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today that former WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown will take on TUF 12 semifinalist Nam Phan at UFC 133 in August.

Phan (16-8) was supposed to face Leonard Garcia at UFC fight Night 24 in March, in a rematch of their Ultimate fighter 12 finale bout. Their first fight ended in a controversial split-decision in favor of Garcia when most of the MMA world thought Phan had won unanimously. Phan was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a foot injury and Chan Sung Jung stepped in to face Gracia.

Brown (24-8) has had a tough time of things since defeating Urijah Faber for the second time at WEC 41 in 2009. In his six fights since that he has gone just 2-4, including his featherweight title loss to Jose Aldo. Presenting on a two fight losing streak (both in the UFC) Brown finds himself in a must-win situation. At 0-3 overall in the UFC (loss to Genki Sudo at UFC 47) he cannot afford to drop to 0-4 on the big stage.

UFC 133 takes place August 6th from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The night’s main card will air on pay-per-view starting at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET. With the card still taking shape, here is how the card currently looks:

205 lbs.: Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis

205 lbs.: Antônio Rogério Nogueira vs. Rich Franklin

185 lbs.: Vitor Belfort vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama

170 lbs.: Dennis Hallman vs. Brian Ebersole

170 lbs.: Johny Hendricks vs. Mike Pierce

185 lbs.: Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara

185 lbs.: Rafael Natal vs. Riki Fukuda

145 lbs.: Nam Phan vs. Mike Brown
