The biggest and best mixed martial arts (MMA) brand in all the land can look at UFC 163 in one of two ways. On one hand, eight months into the year, this is only the second card that looked really amazing on paper but ultimately got destroyed by injuries. Then again, with four months to go, Dana White and Co. could also look at this as an ominous sign of what’s to come for the duration of 2013.
Either way, though, UFC 163 is what it is – a mediocre card highlighted by a main event that isn’t going to be anywhere as competitive as the names of the people involved indicate. The preliminary card, similarly, doesn’t offer much bang for once buck. Fortunately, nobody pays any bucks for the preliminary card – so there’s that.
Here are the results of the prelims, likely the only part of tonight’s event that anyone isn’t a rich, diehard fan is actually going to see.
