UFC 147 Round-by-Round Review: Thiago Perpetuo vs. Leonardo Mafra

Round 1: They touch gloves and Perpetuo takes the center. Mafra wide open with his technique and a little too aggressive, but he manages to nail him with a body kick. Perpetuo backs up as Mafra touches him with a looping left and right hand. Perpetuo grabs the body lock, but Mafra shakes him off. Neither man displaying impeccable technique here, slugging away with their chins up in the air. These two are going for it and both men are landing some, but it's a sloppy one. Perpetuo goes for the takedown, pressing Mafra into the cage. Perpetuo ends the round with a nice elbow on the fence.

Round 2: Perpetuo showing a more measured attack this time, timing a pair of leg kicks well against the wild and attacking Mafra. Perpetuo finding his range it seems, capitalizing on the openings that Mafra's leaving. Perpetuo goes for the takedown and gets it; Mafra threatens the armbar, but Perpetuo defends and takes top position. Mafra continues to work for submissions, but Perpetuo avoids and starts to slice elbows throw Mafra's guard. Perpetuo starting to beat on Mafra with hammerfists now. Two minutes to go and Mafra's is showing the wear of the fight on his face now. Perpetuo has Mafra stuck against the wall and he's going to work with consistent ground and pound.

FightLine scores the round 10-9 for Perpetuo

Round 3: They start out the round with some back and forth exchanging, but it isn't long before Perpetuo drops Mafra with a thundering right hook and finishes him off with hammerfists and elbows.
