UFC 146 Round-by-Round Review: Stipe Miocic vs. Shane Del Rosario

Round 1: A glove touch gets us started. Del Rosario with a body kick. Del Rosario clips Miocic low with an inside leg kick. He acknowledges it and they get back to it. Miocic with a nice straight right. Another left body kick for Del Rosario. Another. And another. Del Rosario chewing Miocic up with kicks to the body and legs. Miocic working forward with punches while Del Rosario backs up and counters.

Another kick to the body and a straight left hand. Del Rosario barely misses with a head kick. Del Rosario goes to the body again with a left round kick. Del Rosario nails Miocic with a left uppercut counter that sends Miocic across the cage. He chases him, but remains patient as Miocic moves away. Del Rosario on the hunt. Miocic manages to corral him against the fence. Thirty seconds to go ad they're engaging in the center. Del Rosario with a pair of nice punches ended with a kick. Miocic gets the takedown from the body lock with moments left, but lets Del Rosario up. Del Rosario gets in another body kick before the bell.

Round 2: Another glove touch and they're back to it. Inside leg kick for Del Rosario, who's displaying great fluid striking. Miocic is still coming forward with punches, but Del Rosario blocks most of them. Miocic gets the takedown again; he takes mount quickly, but Del Rosario recovers half guard just as fast. Miocic getting in some nice ground and pound. He backs out and then settles back into half guard. Three minutes to go. Del Rosario getting bloodied up as Miocic works hammerfists and elbows. Miocic in full mount briefly, then back into half guard as Del Rosario recovers. Two minutes left and Del Rosario is cut up. Miocic pounds on Del Rosario with short elbows until the ref stops it.

It looks a little early until Del Rosario staggers to his feet, very wobbly.
