Tyrann Mathieu, Jordan Jefferson, Karnell Hatcher and Derrick Bryant were arrested Thursday on drug-related charges.
According to ESPN, Mathieu (a.k.a. Honey Badger), Jefferson and Hatcher were charged with simple possession of marijuana; Bryant was charged with possession with intent to distribute.
The fearsome foursome was apparently busted this afternoon when police “smelled a strong odor of marijuana" all the way from outside. Why were they there in the first place? Because Jefferson, for whatever reason, forced his way through the security gate before going to Mathieu's place.
Once Mathieu permitted the cops to search his apartment, they found a marijuana grinder, scale and 10 bags of “high-grade" marijuana.
What Honey Badger was doing with equipment that is generally used by dealers (i.e. the scale) and ridiculous quantities of weed is something everyone can decide for themselves.
You will recall, Mathieu was booted from LSU’s football team this year for failing multiple drug tests. And seeing as he was a former Heisman finalist and all, it goes without saying that he probably failed a lot of drug tests to get that sort of punishment.
After he refused to transfer to a lower division program, folks hoped that he would get his you-know-what together and mentally prepare for the NFL Draft.
So much for that.
