Tim Tebow to Lingerie Football League?

Tim Tebow isn’t a very good quarterback, but he is still a lot better than people want to give him credit for.

Even if you want to disregard the success Tebow had with the Denver Broncos as a fluke, luck or purely the byproduct of that’s team defense, there is still no denying that there are currently guys in the league who are either as bad as he is or worse that still find work.

Just as an example, here are Matt Leinart’s career stats through 33 games: 4,065 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, 21 interceptions, 9 fumbles/89 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns and five fumbles.

Now, here are Tebow’s totals thus far: 2,422 passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns, 9 interceptions and 7 fumbles/989 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns and 7 fumbles.

If one can continually get backup role after backup role, it’s bizarre that the other can’t. Yes, Tebow brings a media firestorm with him that proves to be a distraction – but only if you play the situation as stupidly as the New York Jets did. If a good, stable organization picks him up and makes it explicitly clear that he won’t start under circumstances, he could actually be a solid third-string option.

Presuming that doesn’t happen, though, Tebow does have opportunities. Just yesterday, the Lingerie Football League extended a very generous offer to the former Heisman Trophy winner.

So there you go. If the NFL thing doesn’t work out, Tebow can go coach in the LFL. Heck, maybe he can even play. But definitely not as a quarterback; he doesn't have the arm. As a tight end or running back. Maybe.
