Shamed golfer and philanderer Tiger Woods won’t be shelling out as much dough as first reported in his impending divorce, according to a new report.
Britain’s The Sun newspaper this week claimed Woods’ soon-to-be-ex Elin Nordegren was set to receive a whopping $750 million divorce settlement - a record payout in celebrity divorce terms.
In return for the millions, Nordegren has to keep her silence and never speak out over the golfer’s string of flings. No press, no tell-all books, no nothing.
Nordegren also gets sole physical custody of their kids, while sharing legal custody.
A ‘pal’ told the tabloid: “Elin is desperate to protect the children from the womanising side of their father.
“Tiger’s main fear is her telling her story after he’s rebuilt his reputation, sending him back to the gutter.
“Elin’s legal team have done a great job digging up all sorts of assets.
“The price of the huge sum is her silence: no interviews, tell-all books, or TV appearances about this for the rest of her life – even if Tiger dies first – or she’ll lose the lot.”
Well that lot just shrunk in size. TMZ claims the handout is likely to be less than the reported $750 million.
As one source put it, “Tiger isn’t even worth that much.”
“She’ll do a lot better than she would have under the prenup,” added the source.
Woods, according to Forbes, is estimated to be worth $650 million.
