No matter what you think of him and his recently uncovered extramarital activity, one thing is clear: If Tiger Woods makes his much-anticipated return to the golf course at the 2010 Masters, it would be one of the most talked about athletic comebacks in recent history.

You think his every move was watched closely before?

Just wait until Woods shows up at Augusta. The TV audience will be enormous and the tabloid chatter will be crackling.

And what a stage. For golf, it doesn't get any bigger than the Masters.

If Woods and his re-image makers want to jump back in with a bang -- this will be the venue to do it.

At least that's what the Associated Press is reporting. The news outlet says "Woods intends to remain out of golf at least until the Masters," according to two anonymous sources. "Woods has been practicing at Isleworth near his Orlando home the last two weeks, and swing coach Hank Haney flew there during the weekend to work with him. That led to speculation Thursday he was close to playing again.

AP says: The two people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because only Woods is supposed to release such information, say he is likely to play first at Augusta National in April.
