More bad news for Denver Broncos wide receivers. Eddie Royal had to undergo hip surgery recently and that is expected to keep him sidelined for up to six months. Now, it’s Demaryius Thomas’ turn to get banged up.
Thomas suffered a torn Achilles tendon while working out on Wednesday. Yes, we’re well aware that we are a bit late to the party on this one. Been meaning to post it for a while now.
This is a huge setback for Thomas, who suffered through an inconsistent and injury-plagued rookie year in 2010. But, head coach John Fox is confident that Thomas will be fine.
“I have no doubt that Demaryius will overcome this setback,” Broncos head coach John Fox said in a statement.. “He’s proven he can handle adversity and will get through this. We look forward to getting Demaryius back on the field as soon as possible.”
It’s looking like a 6-8 month recovery timetable, and Thomas could be a candidate for PUP in the summer.
