Thiago Alves Out of UFC 149 Showdown vs. Siyar Bahadurzada
Siyar Bahadurzada was an injury replacement for Yoshihiro Akiyama in a bout at UFC 149 against Thiago Alves. Now, Bahadurzada will have a replacement fighter to go up against, as an injury has knocked Alves from the card.
Earlier in the day on Friday, Thiago Silva was forced out of the July 21 event from Calgary, Alberta, Canada with an injury. A replacement for Silva to face Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, and one for Bahadurzada, are currently being discussed by the UFC.
Bahadurzada won his UFC debut earlier this year after having his original debut pushed back due to injury. MMAWeekly.com first reported the Alves injury.
