Thales Leites Links Up with World Series of Fighting
Thales Leites, who once challenged UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, has signed with the World Series of Fighting, according to the promotion. The WSOF is scheduled to put on its first event in November, though it remains unknown if Leites will fight on the card.
Leites, who is 31 years old, has won three straight since a loss to Matt Horwich. He is 20-4 in his career, including 13 submission victories.
After winning five consecutive UFC fights following a decision defeat to Martin Kampmann, Leites found himself inside the Octagon with Silva. He was handed a decision loss to "The Spider," and was also defeated by Alessio Sakara. The defeat to Sakara resulted in his exit from the UFC.
