Gunmen in Pakistan today attacked a bus carrying the Sri Lankan national cricket team with grenades and automatic weapons, killing six police officers and wounding several more before fleeing. The attack on the cricket team carried large symbolic significance,
striking the country's most popular sports in one of it's largest
cities, further emphasizing the Pakistani government's inability to prevent attacks and protect visitors.
“Today is a black day for Pakistan cricket and a black day for Pakistan,” said Rashid Latif, a former Pakistan cricket captain in a Reuters interview.
After it was revealed that the attacks in Mumbai were carried out by Pakistanis, the international community is increasingly focusing on Pakistan as one of the world's most prominent breeding grounds for terrorism.
