I’m not exactly sure how this is going to work, but America’s favorite cat – the one who saved a boy from a dog attack – is scheduled to throw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game next week.
The Bakersfield Blaze – a Class A affiliate of the Reds – made the announcement yesterday.
“Tara [the cat] and her family will be appearing at the Bakersfield Blaze home game on Tuesday, May 20th , and throwing out a ceremonial first pitch,” the team announced. “Will Tara be able to toss a proper two-whisker fastball? Only time will tell.”
News flash: Tara isn’t throwing anything. She is sprinting to the closest dugout, finding an empty equipment box, and never showing her face again. Why? Because she is a cat.
This is cool for the family and all, but what in the world is this cat going to do on a baseball field in front of thousands of people other than be completely freaked out?
Great job saving your buddy, Tara. I’m sorry your owners are showing their appreciation by scaring the hell out of you.
