Sugar Shane Mosley certainly knows how to make an entrance. He had to get to Las Vegas for his big weekend fight with Manny Pacquiao. So, like most of us, he flew there. But unlike most of us, Mosley co-piloted the plane.
Mosley was behind the controls as the small four-seater flew from Big Bear, California to Vegas on Tuesday. A pilot and another companion were on board for the one-hour flight.
Sounds pretty cool, right? Not if you're fight promoter Bob Arum, who has a lot of money tied up in Mosley being alive for the fight.
“I found out about it this morning and I went crazy,” Arum said. “You think I would allow him to fly? I’m going to kick his ass."
He added, “It was more than dumb.”
Asked if he had a fighter standing by to face Pacquiao if something tragic happened, Arum joked, "It’s (Floyd) Mayweather.”
Mayweather and Pacquiao have been famously reluctant to fight each other.
