The New York Giants started the 2010 extremely deep at wide receiver. They had Hakeem Nicks, Steve Smith, Mario Manningham, Domenik Hixon, Sinorice Moss, and even Victor Cruz.
But, one by one, they have dropped off like flies. All but Manningham were out as of last week. But, they did get Nicks and Smith back for the Minnesota Vikings game, but even that last only a short time.
The Giants have officially announced that Smith is out for the year. It was originally thought to be a hamstring problem, but further testing revealed a tear in his meniscus.
The G-Men can still make a deep post-season run, but it will have to be with Manningham, Nicks and some street guys like Derek Hagan, Michael Clayton and Devin Thomas.
