Stefan Struve's Dad is Battling Cancer

Stefan Struve went out and handed Stipe Miocic his first career loss Saturday at UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic. "Skyscraper" did so with a family member on his mind.

"Yeah, my dad has been dying of cancer for about two months so this was for him," said Struve, during the post-fight show on Fuel TV. "He is in his therapy for four weeks now and I heard he is doing well, but still. It was really tough (dealing with the emotions)."

Struve pushed his record to 25-5 overall, including 14-3 in his last 17 fights. The seven-feet-tall Dutch fighter caught Miocic in the second and didn't let up, dropping him to the canvas with a series of uppercuts.

"I think I showed that I am still getting better, stronger in every fight," Struve said. "I am getting more powerful in every shot. I felt really well. I just need to use my reach more and more, and I'm working hard on that."

As for his next opponent, Struve pegged Fabricio Werdum, saying, "I think it would be an awesome fight and he is one of the best fighters in the world. I think I can rock him on the ground and I can beat him."
