Spencer Fisher Retires After Losing to Sam Stout at UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida

"The King" is stepping away from MMA. Spencer Fisher announced his retirement from the UFC following a decision loss to Sam Stout Friday night at UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida.

"Yeah, I think this was it," said Fisher, during the post-fight show. "Sam brings the best out of me, it was a good way to end the trilogy, and if I did come back, it would be at 145 pounds. I'm too small for 155 pounds. If the right fight came along, I woudl come back."

Fisher concludes his career with a record of 24-9 if he does remain retired. He lost his last three inside the Octagon, and went just 1-5 in his previous six bouts.

The 36-year-old Fisher has been part of Team Evolution since 2002. He has competed as both a lightweight and a welterweight.
