Ray Lewis has been an NFL superstar for a very long time. Without a doubt, when you ask football fans from this generation who the one player they associate most with the Baltimore Ravens is, the name you'll hear 99 out of 100 times will inevitably be his. He will go down as one of the all-time greats. There is no denying that.
For all those reasons and more, it makes sense that the media would fawn all over Lewis in what he insists is his final NFL season. He has had a legendary career, and what would the mythmakers in pro football be if they couldn’t drum up an inspirational story about him in his waning days. That being said, the fact that the endless Ray Lewis coverage makes sense doesn’t make it any less annoying or tiresome.
Fortunately, the good folks at Saturday Night Live have just the cure. They decided to cover Lewis the way he should be covered all this week. By spoofing him.
