Seahawks Take A Page From Auburn's Playbook On Second Quarter Touchdown

If you’re a fan of both the NFL and college football, you might have noticed something very familiar looking in last night’s Packers-Seahawks game.

When Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson found Ricardo Lockette for a touchdown in the second quarter, the team ran the exact same play Auburn ran for a touchdown in last year’s Iron Bowl. Pete Carroll openly admitted to lifting the play from the Tigers.

“We’ll go anywhere to find a play,” Carroll said after the game. “And that one-uh, Muschamp at Florida, no … Auburn. They ran it. Give Gus Malzahn credit. That’s a great play. I kept telling them [the offensive staff and players] this summer, ‘It’ll work, it’ll work.’ But it didn’t work all summer.”

Auburn noticed the play too, and posted a vine showing both plays simultaneously.
