Little league baseball isn’t for everyone. While some folks obviously enjoy seeing youngsters do what they do, others (read: me) aren’t particularly enthralled by the level of skill that’s on display at the games.
That’s not a slight against these kids, by the way – they’re kids. It’s only natural that they don’t have a firm grasp of the fundamentals yet. College baseball is barely watchable, expecting MLB-level play out of little kids is totally unrealistic.
Even Little League haters like me had to take pause today, though, when video emerged of Ceddanne Rafaela getting inadvertently drilled by a really big pitcher.

Fortunately, Rafaela seemed to be okay afterward. And the pitcher, for his part, was the personification of a good sport throughout.
Here's to hoping everyone walked away from that healthy.
