Is Ronda Rousey the Best Female Athlete Around?

Judo legend Gene LeBell was on hand with his student Ronda Rousey (5-0) at the 2011 World MMA Awards and addressed how she is the present and future of female MMA stars.

LeBell took no credit on Rousey's accomplishments to date.

"I'm not the architect behind this fighter," said LeBell. "I'm nothing more than her uncle."

Rousey won her first Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship in March of this year.

"As far as the women go, this is where it starts and ends," said LeBell. "I've seen women on Olympic teams, national champions and this girl Ronda Rousey is the best I've ever seen."

Sarah Kaufman (15-1), who won and lost the Strikeforce Bantamweight Championship in 2010, will be the first challenger to Rousey's title. Kaufman has won her last three fights to earn another shot the championship. All of Rousey's fights have ended in round one via armbar submission.

The two will fight for Strikeforce on August 18.
